I have developed this picture further, by using the levels to create more contrast, giving the picture more clarity and depth. I have also experimented on photoshop and changed the image to black and white.

Contact sheet
Here is my contact sheet with my photos I have taken which are based on the theme, fashion photography. I have used a theme of autumn and nature to incorporate this with fashion. As well as nature I have also got my model position herself by buildings and in a shed. My aim for the shoot was to make the model appear natural and possess a modern and fresh style and vibe. Some pictures have been taken as if it is candid, to give an impression she is caught off guard and unaware of the camera., for example in some shoots she is mid walking and also not looking as if she is posing for the camera.

Final Image
This is my final image of Frederick Sommer's picture I emulated. I linked this to fashion photography in a different approach as it involves a mysterious girl, clutching her chest. The picture conveys a dark and mysterious mood, allowing the audience to think about why this girl is there and what is going through her thoughts. I got my sister to stand with her hands clutching her chest, possibly to convey she is scared, or that she is mysterious and evil. The photo gives her a sense of innocence as she is a little girl, with plaits, wearing a white dress. I put red lipstick and black mascara on her, as when I changed it to black and white, her lips were able to really stand out, and her eyes really stand out and look sharp, like the original picture. The background I chose to use was an old shed, as it has a withered and old style, similar to the original photo.
I edited it even further, by altering the levels, to make the subject brighter, similar to the original one. I then changed the shadows and highlights on the background to really enhance the wood, giving it a rustic look.

To do this emulation, I added a red/orange tinted photo filter. I then overlaid red colours around the models arms and face slightly to create depth. I finally changed the levels to brighten her face up to give it a glow. The expression that Lydia is demonstrating a lot of attitude. I decided to take this outside in the dark, with a flash to bring out the colours. For my next step, I am going to stand further back to get a much more of a portrait view, where her arms are more in view. I am also going to make the models head positioned more back, to look like the original photo.

Final Image
For this shoot, I edited it in black and white, and also added some texture over the top to give it a grainy effect, this makes the image look as if it is vintage and gives it a rustic look. The photo has been taken in a landscape format, then I cropped, to cut out the unnecessary background. To do this shoot, we decided to take this in the bathroom, as it had the right lighting as the photograph I was emulating. The model Lydia, is clutching the shawl around her delicately, whilst holding the cigarette in her mouth about to light it up. I gave the model strong features, by highlighting her cheekbones to make them very prominent, like the original photo. I have taken this from a side angle to make it look as if she has just been caught off guard and isn't aware that her photo is being taken. The background is slightly in focus, the tiles can be seen, my next step for my emulation feedback, is to take the photo more close up and make sure the background is blurred.

Emulation Plan
I have chosen three fashion photography shoots, which I intend to emulate...
This shot, taken by Jürgen Teller, involves model Kate Moss raising one eyebrow and glancing to the right, with her tongue pushing onto her teeth. Her body language and facial expression suggests that there is a sense of aggression but also power. Her hands are also placed on her hips, tilting; suggesting femininity and confidence. The use of the colour red has been used on her lips and her leotard. The colour red suggests love but also danger, hence why she is positioned like that. The background is just black and herself is very bright, enabling her to be the centre of attention. For my photo I intend to emulate, I will incorporate these features into it. The equipment I will need in order for this shoot to be successful will be: A girl model, Red top, Red lipstick, lighting and the camera.
This shot taken by Erwin Blumenfield, again involves a woman as the main feature. This time the woman is positioned looking down about to light up a cigarette, elegantly clutching her scarf around her collarbones. The shot has been taken in black and white, giving the picture depth of different tones and textures allowing it to really stand out. Her makeup and hair is very typical vintage too. The background has been blurred out so that she is the main attention. For my photo I intend to emulate, I will incorporate these features I have previously mentioned. The equipment I will need for this shoot are: A girl model, makeup, camera, cigarette and scarf.
This shot taken by Frederick Sommer is a very different approach to the previous two photos I have selected. This time, the shoot involves a little girl, standing positioned with her hands together against an old weathered backdrop. The little girl is perceived to be innocent as she is wearing a white dress and her hair in plaits implying purity and goodness, yet her eyes convey a mysterious look about them. To a degree, the girls hair and arms cleverly blend into the foreground . The colour is in black and white making it look simplistic and natural. For my own photo I intend to emulate, I will incorporate these features. The equipment I will need for this shoot: A child, a white dress, trees foreground.
