Final Piece

Before

After
Here, I have taken this picture of Emily, in the woods.  I have edited this picture by firstly adjusting the levels, then playing around with the curves, creating a purple toned effect. I added vignette also and added a lens flare. As the picture is in the forest with the trees in the background, there is a lot going on, but I have positioned emily on the far right, dressed in red and black to contrast against the background. Also the lens flare is encircled by Emily, which allows her more of a prominent feature in the picture.

I felt this shoot was very successful as I co-ordinated the colours which were pastels, with the background also. My aim for this shoot was to be very minimalistic and for the model to almost appear as if this shoot was candid and natural.

Andy Warhol Style Homework

''Andy Warhol; born Andrew Warhola; August 6, 1928 – February 22, 1987 was an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as Pop Art. His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture, and advertisement that flourished by the 1960s. After a successful career as a commercial illustrator, Warhol became a renowned and sometimes controversial artist. Warhol's art used many types of media, including hand drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, silk screening, sculpture, film, and music.''
I have experimented here on Photoshop using the effect Posterize to make it look cartoon or painted. I also repeated this 3 times to duplicate Warhol's piece of ''The Marilyns'' For this shoot I used pastel colours which are seen on her clothes and also the background. I have linked this posters effect with artist Andy Warhol, as the posters effect linked to the theme of pop art.

I have experimented using hue and saturation. I have rubbed away the background to gain this effect, making the colours stand out so vividly. For this photo, I used space to break up the model from the forest background.

This shoot was very successful and worked very well with the colour saturation, making the model stand out. I have also played around with the crop, as I thought the original image had unnecessary space which detracted from the main subject. I edited this further, by firstly adjusting colour curves in red, green and blue separately, to create an almost cross - process look.

I then added vignette, so the canvas became darker around the sides, which also created a film look.

I finally added the filter lens flare  to give it a dreamy, textured look.

I have experimented these pictures into photoshop. I firstly started by adjusting the levels to add more contrast. I then put them into the one canvas, I then played around with the overlay effect and the screen effect.

Experimentation & Artist Photoshoot

I have taken a selection of photos based on the theme of fashion photography. I decided to take the photos in a natural environment; for this shoot, in the forest. I dressed the model in a bold blue dress and pink wellies to juxtapose against the setting of the greenery. I have gained inspiration from photographer Ella Ruth's work. Her works has a sense of mystical nature about them whilst featuring elegant models in simple dresses to stand out in the forest.
